Ray is the principal in
The Human Resource Consultancy, a human resource consulting firm
specializing in HR strategy, compensation & benefits and executive
search. The firm was established in 1997. The firm consults with a variety
of businesses and not-for-profit organizations on issues ranging from
employee relations to executive compensation. Recent client projects have
included senior management restructuring, M & A issues, executive
compensation and executive search.
Prior to 1997, Ray spent
30 years in Human Resource Management with United Airlines, NBI, Inc.,
Seafirst Bank and Flight Safety Boeing in virtually all human resource
functions. The latter portions of his career were spent in general
management roles. He holds a BA from Westminster College (PA) and an MS
from Indiana University. He holds the professional designations of CCP
(Certified Compensation Professional), CBP (Certified Benefits
Professional) from WorldatWork (formerly ACA) and GRP (Global Rewards
Professional) from the Global Remuneration Organization. He is also an
international lecturer and has spoken to a wide range of Human Resource and
general management audiences on human resource practices.
Ray lives on Bainbridge
Island, Washington and is active in community activities. He is a past
president of the Bainbridge Island Rotary Club and is on the board of the
Alzheimer's Association in Seattle (former vice president of the Board and
executive committee member). He is a member of the Society for Human
Resource Management and WorldatWork where he served on the board from
1996-98.
He enjoys golf, sailing
and scuba diving.
His clients have ranged
from larger companies to emerging companies and the nature of his projects
have emphasized human resource strategy and the compensation practices
which best support the client company's culture.
